Well known as a superfood, flax seeds are full of nutrients.  Just one tablespoon provides a good amount of protein, dietary fiber, and omega-3 fatty acids.  They are also a rich source of vitamins and minerals including vitamin B-1 and magnesium.  With a nutty flavor, they are excellent when added to baked goods such as bread, muffins, granola, biscuits, and pancakes.
